How to Miss Your Flight

E ‘was almost a perfect moment. I ran into traffic on a rainy day in Boston, slowed by injuries, nervous to catch my flight. I had fretted as I waited for the car shuffle to get to the right terminal. I was arrested on security for my account I had a cylindrical metal object in my bag (a microphone). But now I got to my house 10 minutes before my flight was originally planned. It was a moment almost perfect. There was a jet on the deck, but … There was nobody at the door and the door was closed. The plane was still there, but I had missed. If you have never lost a route, let me give you some tips on how to do it.

Tip 1: Be sure of your departure time, I have many projects for flights different than I expected and I forgot what time the flight was at first until I received a reminder on my phone.

Tip 2: Do not leave enough time I worked in an office just 25 minutes or so to the airport when there is traffic, but it was Friday afternoon when the traffic is guaranteed and the rainy afternoon this Friday. My plan was to allow half an hour more to reach the airport and drop the rental car. As a project for the airport an hour before my flight, then add the time from there.

Tip No. 3: “one thing” Even after being reminded by e-mail alert from my departure time I had time to do “one more thing.” Given the closeness that I had to do a flight of a thing may have been too much.

Tip 4: Do not allow traffic Had I been able to take public transport I could make my flight. The MTA would have been complete, but would have no problem with the rain I delayed the highway behind at least two incidents. It ‘s very frustrating to be an hour and a half from a flight, but not sure if you will. Public transport has been slower than the fastest time in a car, but better than the worst.

Tip No. 5: make security more complex, it is ironic that when I packed my heavy metal band Blue Yeti microphone I feared that I might slow down safely to the airport, but did not slow down until the same time that I could at least afford the delay.

Tip 6: “One more thing:” Even after getting through security, I made one last stop (it has been granted in the bathroom), before arriving at my door. When you point a flight to be laser focused, at least up to the door and check the shipping status.
